BIOGRAPHY
JaXon Gállery (formerly known as Bryan J) was discovered in Hogansville, a small town outside of Atlanta with a population of about 2000 people. JaXon’s love for music started at a young age. “When I was 5, I was singing and my mom thought I had my radio on, but it was me singing when she walked in the room,” says JaXon. Although his family consisted of mostly athletes and his grandfather was the mayor of his hometown growing up, he always had passionate roots in music. “I’ve always had a love for music growing up, even outside of my love of baseball and basketball; specifically R&B music because it felt so authentic to me and my hometown of Hogansville; which is a town filled with a love and energy unmatched,” JaXon remembers. “Every cookout blared Al Green, Luther Vandross, Isley Brothers, The Gap Band and so much more.” His parents knew from that point that this new passion needed to be nurtured. In 2007, after being introduced to RedZone producer Sean K. Hall, JaXon’s high, velvety vibrato caught the ear of Tricky Stewart, who signed him to the Atlanta-based label RedZone. There, he worked with Soundz, one of the label’s talented producers, on his hit “Let Me Take You Out,” featuring the rap trio Travis Porter which included a viral music video for the song that’s garnered over 12 million views and was the 3rd fastest growing song on Youtube to date. JaXon’s talent also attracted the attention of L.A. Reid, formerly the head of Island Def Jam, who began working with RedZone and JaXon on a major label recording contract. “I knew you were a star when you walked in the room,” stated LA Reid upon meeting him. In a short amount of time, you could say JaXon was perfectly situated to be the next teen heartthrob after signing to a major label [IDJ] and opening shows for Justin Bieber. “Don’t ever let someone tell you how to create your art because if they could do it, they’d have done it already,” LA Reid repeatedly told JaXon. But when IDJ’s former label boss L.A. Reid decided to later become CEO and Chairman of Epic Records in 2011, he also hired Stewart to head the label’s A&R department. With Reid’s full support, Stewart was able to take JaXon with him to Epic where the young artist could work with a label that had an interest in sharing his talent with the world.
While developing himself as an Artist, JaXon was paired with “The Dream”’ to teach him the art and ropes of songwriting. “The Dream would always tell me that every song says something about your journey.. every word says something about how you felt about it. Don’t waste your word,” says JaXon when remembering early years. He took that lesson with him throughout his journey which eventually landed him a collaboration in 2015 with SHINee on the song “Good Evening” which garnered the #10 record in South Korea. This was just the beginning of his creative accolades as he went on to write 4 songs for Charlie Wilson for his “In it to Win it” album. He also later collaborated with the likes of Beenie Man, Young Thug, Tyga, DJ Quik, Problem and 2 Chainz on various singles.
Coming off of the success of collaborating with Charlie Wilson, JaXon then went on to tour with legendary icon Erykah Badu and the rap goat himself, Nas in 2019.
In 2022, Bryan J decided to officially rebrand himself as JaXon Gállery to reflect his new image that he would describe as “raw emotion meets cinematic storytelling—smooth, soulful, and hauntingly real with a blend of R&B, and moody vibes that hits home.”
“I continue to get inspiration daily,” says JaXon Gállery. “Hearing things like, ‘It’s been a long time since I heard a voice like yours because it’s refreshing and different’, is great to hear because that essentially means that me being me is refreshing; which is dope.”
Many fans may also notice that JaXon’s weaving theme throughout each project is stamped with the phrase “Bloom"; which he defines as meaning “Better-Love-Ourselves-Over-Money.” JaXon’s commitment to growing is easy to see as he describes his current motivation to create tracks that brim with soul authenticity, vibrant energy and the right amount of polish from modern day hitmakers.
Recently, JaXon just released his new EP “You Should’ve Been Here” that he says is his most honest body of work to date. He also has an upcoming soulful/funk duo project with his producer Rico as well as another solo EP that is slated to be released in the spring and summer of 2025.
JaXon Gállery’s new batch of music weaves together a knack for storytelling steeped in catchy, R&B sensibility that comes from an artist dedicated to finding his own voice among today’s endless pile of r&b clones.
